Our ESL students participated in The Great Egg Roll III, an online project which brings fun to math with measurement and averaging, with schools across the United States and abroad. First, we discussed the difference between a raw egg and a hard boiled egg and peformed several science experiments with eggs. The next step was to dye our eggs.
Then we rolled our eggs. Boy, did we have fun and we certainly learned the difference between a roll and a throw.
After we rolled our eggs, we learned how to convert feet to inches and calculated the longest girl roll and longest boy roll. We then figured out our class average. Our longest boy roll was 190 inches. Our longest girl roll was 183 inches. Our class average was 138 inches. We then graphed our results in the computer lab using Create-a Graph and Microsoft Excel.
Our Egg-cellent Results
Finally we decorated our eggs.
We also are participating in the "Egg"-ceptional Fashion Show. Here is our entry our "Baby Girl Eggberta."
